Fisio1The Physiotherapy Practise of Robinne Bigalke and Janneke Visser is a registered practise based in the beautiful Heldervue suburb of Somerset West. We are motivated to help our clients through evidence based physiotherapy and continuous professional development.  Robinne is registered with the South African Society of Physiotherapy and the Health Professionals Council of SA and Janneke with the South African Society of Physiotherapy, Health Professionals Council of SA, Canadian Physiotherapy Association and Alberta Physiotherapy Assocciation.
Robinne has been practising at this practise since 1998 and Janneke joined the practise in 2008. We provide service to a diverse local and international patient base. We share the premises with four general practisioners, Drs. Gerbrand Haasbroek, Frikkie van Wijk, Pieter Odendaal and Marilise De Wet.

About 

Robinne Bigalke graduated B.Sc. Physiotherapy from the University of Stellenbosch in 1983 and Janneke Visser from the University of the Free State in 1990. They are both avid sport enthusiasts enjoying mountain biking, hiking and trail running.

The South African Society of Physiotherapy defines physiotherapy as:
Assessing, treating and preventing human movement disorders, restoring normal function or minimising dysfunction and pain in adults and children with physical impairment, to enable them to achieve the highest possible level of independence in their lives; preventing recurring injuries and disability in the workplace, at home, or during recreational activities and promoting community health for all age groups.

Physiotherapists use:

Skilled evaluation, skilled hands on therapy such as mobilisation, manipulation, massage and acupressure; individually designed exercise programmes, relaxation techniques, sophisticated equipment, hydrotherapy and biofeedback, specialised electrotherapy equipment, heat, ice and traction to relieve pain and assist healing and recovery, suitable walking aids, splints and appliances, patient education.
